Sponsorship Wish List
Refurbishment of our 60-year-old sewage plant that is posing a danger to the environment if not replaced soon. Estimated cost around +-R1 000 000+.
Replacement of our current, non-working fire alarm system. We installed a fire alarm system in the unit that had the fire in December 2020. This system is incompatible with our old fire alarm system, which is redundant and cannot be fixed or upgraded. The estimated cost for replacing the fire alarm systems in the rest of the units will be R1 000 000+.
We have solar panels for the solar geysers and panels that feed electricity back onto the grid. We have a 40+ year-old generator, guzzling diesel. We need inverters and batteries to reduce fuel costs and provide electricity to more areas at the Centre during power failures.
We need more storage space for donations and other goods. A park home or containers will help or building of a “barn” type building for deliveries and storage.
Our charity shop and our second-hand bookshop require upgrading and enlargement. The best solution would be a reasonable rental venue in town to run these two shops from.
We require financial support or sponsored items to develop our vegetable tunnel project, for example:
- building more tunnels,
- securing a more dependable water supply to the tunnels,
- sourcing a refrigerated truck for the transport of the harvested vegetables,
- converting existing buildings into packaging and cooling room facilities.
Some of our vehicles need replacement. Vehicles needing replacement are:
- an old Toyota Corolla and
- a Hyundai.
Vehicles we need are:
- Minibus for transport,
- Cooler truck for vegetables, and
- a plaas bakkie
Good, low mileage, second-hand vehicles with low fuel usage will suffice.
For security, we need to upgrade our security system, for example more cameras, apps, etc.
We’d love to appoint a security guard with a central gate control boom, proper access control, and a guard house.
Thank you for your kindness and compassion.
While we are grateful for the government Department of Social Services’ subsidy and SASSA disability grants, it covers less than 25% of our total running costs. Therefore, your sponsorship plays a crucial role in bridging the funding gap and sustaining our quality of care and support.
Contact us today to become a sponsor and make a meaningful difference in the lives of our beloved residents.
